Spanish-language television network Univision will air a special report this Saturday, June 23 (11 a.m. Pacific Time) aimed at educating parents about the new Common Core State Standards. Aída Walqui is part of Univision’s multi-platform education initiative, called Es el momento (The Moment is Now). The Univision special will feature Walqui and is titled, “Ya viene: Elevando los estándares educativos” (It’s coming: Elevating educational standards). This special is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist María Antonieta Collins and outlines what these new Common Core State Standards mean for parents and students.
The special will provide awareness to parents on significant changes in teaching and learning that their children will be experiencing in the near future and the role they will play.
