Salt Creek Rolls Out ‘Red Carpet’ for County School Leaders

Students at Salt Creek Elementary (photo) recently serenaded visiting county dignitaries with a song in Spanish that celebrated their biliteracy and biculturalism. County Superintendent of Schools Randy Ward and superintendents, school board members, principals, and parent leaders from 10 San Diego County School Districts visited Salt Creek as part of a ‘Red Carpet Tour’ of outstanding foreign language programs. The Red Carpet Tour was organized by the San Diego County Office of Education as part of SDCOE’s push to expand world language programs in San Diego County public schools. Salt Creek is one of 14 schools in CVESD that offer Dual Immersion programs, where students develop literacy in Spanish as well as English.

This is a much more accessible format for parent input and communication. Thanks for giving it a try.
