Glendora M. Tremper Appointed to Board of Education

The Board of Education unanimously selected Ms. Glendora M. Tremper to fill the seat vacated by Mr. Russell Y. Coronado.  Ms. Tremper is the parent of a sixth grade student at Hazel Goes Cook Elementary School, where she is president of the school’s PTA. She currently works as the lead Language-Speech and Hearing (LSH) specialist for River Springs Charter School in Temecula. She was formerly the coordinator of Student Support Services in the South Bay Union School District. Ms. Tremper has served as the District’s Budget Advisory Committee chairperson for the last five years.  She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and lived in Europe, Venezuela, and Canada before settling in San Diego. She is fluent in Spanish.

“Ms. Tremper’s experiences and passion for our students will continue the long tradition of exemplary Board members in the Chula Vista Elementary School District,” said Superintendent Francisco Escobedo, Ed.D.

The District would like to thank the parent representatives who served on the paper screening committee, who included Lilia Carnahan, DAC Chair, Patricia Ruvalcaba, DELAC Chair, and Margaret Akronowitz, Special Education Parent Committee.

Ms. Tremper took the Oath of Office (photos, left) immediately following the Board’s vote on April 23.
