CVPD Hosts Students, Family, and Community Members

More than 1,500 students, parents and community members attended the Chula Vista Police Department’s recent observation of National Night Out, a celebration of police and community relations. The event was sponsored in part by the Chula Vista Elementary School District, and featured activities for children, demonstrations by a police K-9 unit, the Fire Department “Jaws of Life,” SWAT and other special police units. The event took place at CVPD headquarters at 4th Avenue and F Street.

National Night Out was started 29 years ago by the National Association of Town Watch as a way to promote neighborhood watch groups, strengthen relationships between community members and police, and educate the public about crime.
